Catalyze Capital invests in Melt&Marble to scale precision fermentation fats

8 December 2025, Amsterdam NL – Catalyze Capital is proud to announce its investment in Melt&Marble AB (Sweden), as part of a €10 million funding round that will accelerate the company’s scale-up and commercialisation of sustainable, precision fermentation-based fats for food and personal care applications.

The round included a €7.3 million Series A equity investment led by Industrifonden, with participation from the European Innovation Council (EIC) Fund, Beiersdorf, Valio, Chalmers Ventures, and Catalyze Capital. In addition, Melt&Marble received €2.76 million in grant funding, including €2.5 million from the EIC Accelerator. Catalyze also supported Melt&Marble throughout the EIC Accelerator application procedure, contributing to their successful combined grant and equity award.

Sustainable fats engineered for high performance

Melt&Marble is developing tailor-made, animal-free fats using a proprietary microbial engineering platform. These designer fats are optimised for performance in both food and cosmetics, offering improved mouthfeel and texture in alternative proteins, as well as enhanced skin-feel and bioactivity in skincare formulations.

The company’s first product launch is expected in personal care applications in 2026, marking an important milestone in its transition from R&D to commercialisation.
