EIT Food: Impact Funding Framework

Our experts have gathered the most essential information on the EIT Food programme and the two different areas within the programme.

Deadlines: Multiple calls are planned

  • 13 March 2025 
  • 10 July 2025
  • 13 November 2025

Funding:

  • Single Projects: total budgets between €50,000 – €1 million over 18 months.
  • Collaborative Missions: total budgets between €250,000 – €750,000 per year

Funding rate: 70%, co-funding is mandatory

Total budget: not defined

Project duration: 3 years

Consortium: Consortia consisting of at least two independent entities from two different eligible countries from Member States of the EU and from Horizon Europe Associated Countries

Scope: The Impact Funding Framework promotes collaboration that will lead to change in food systems that benefit everyone. The funding is based on two separate areas:

Impact Funding Framework: Collaborative missions

This mission is for NGO’s – 100% grant focused on the below:

  • Improve the impact of diet on obesity and non-communicable disease
  • Reduce food-system-related environmental harms
  • Deal with the threats posed by food integrity and complex supply chains

Impact Funding Framework: Single projects

This is for small consortia with an SME in the lead to bring a product to the market

  • Protein diversification, bringing protein diversification to the mainstream
  • Regenerative agriculture, enabling farmers to lead the transition to Net Zero
  • Labelling, packaging & transparency, empowering people in their food choices
