Project Duration: 2 years

Consortium: Open to teams (up to 5 members) and newly incorporated start-ups (less than a year ago), entrepreneur with a business idea, or entrepreneur seeking business opportunity. Participants must hold an EU citizenship or be a resident of an EU Member State country.

Scope: Every year, Wild Card builds two new ventures that break new ground, push boundaries, and troubleshoot some of European healthcare’s greatest challenges. It attracts the brightest talent, mentor founders-to-be and invest in the two most promising ventures. Successful applicants will start with forming their teams and problem-solving. Teams will develop their business model and pitch to secure their place in the final round. Shortlisted teams will pitch their solution to a panel of industry leaders, with two finally being selected to receive EIT Health’s support to incorporate their new companies.

The two challenge areas for 2022 are:

• Mental Health: How to improve detection, diagnosis, and treatment to fight mental disorders?
• Early detection of Cancer: How to advance early diagnosis and screening of cancer?
