Pre-announcement: PRIMA Calls 2023 (Partnership for R&I in the Mediterranean area)

The PRIMA programme’s overall objective is to build research and innovation capacities to develop knowledge and common innovative solutions to make food systems and water provision more sustainable and resilient to climate change in the Mediterranean area. The 2023 deadlines are expired, new calls are expected in 2024.

PRIMA Calls Information

PRIMA participating countries from the member states of the European Union are: Croatia, Cyprus, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Luxembourg, Malta, Portugal, Spain, Slovenia.

PRIMA participating countries from associated third countries: Israel, Tunisia, Turkey, Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon and Morocco.

Calls under section 1, are funded by PRIMA-IS (EU contribution). Activities of the PRIMA programme are supported along with the following types of actions: Research and Innovation Action (RIA), Innovation Action (IA) Coordination and Support Action (CSA) and financial contributions given as rewards following the publication of a contest (Prizes).  While RIAs in Section 1 refers to Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 3-5, IAs refers to TRL 6-8. Calls under CSA consist primarily of accompanying measures such as standardisation, dissemination, awareness-raising and communication, networking, coordination or support services, policy dialogues and mutual learning exercises and studies, including design studies for new infrastructure and may also include complementary activities of strategic planning, networking and coordination between programmes in different countries.

Call under Section 2 are funded by the PRIMA participating states (PS). Allowed R&I activities and eligible costs may vary per country. National regulations have not been published yet for 2022. Read about the regulation of year 2021 here.
