Joint Programmes

Three joint research programmes have released upcoming calls with deadlines early in 2022: Joint Programming Initiative on Antimicrobial Resistance (JPIAMR), European Joint Programme Rare Diseases (EJP RD), and ERA-net Personalised Medicine.

JPIAMR – Joint Programming Initiative on Antimicrobial Resistance

JPIAMR – Disrupting drug resistance using innovative design

Total Budget: estimated call budget € 17M

Deadline: Pre-proposal: 8 March 2022 / Full proposal: 5 July

Project duration: Up to 3 years

Consortium: Consortia should consist of a maximum of 6 project partners (including non-funded partners). The maximum number of partners can be increased to 7 if the consortium includes a company, or a partner coming from low- or middle-income countries, Lithuania or Poland.

Scope: This call will focus on tackling the rising threat of antimicrobial resistance. The aim is to improve the treatment of bacterial and fungal infections (including co-infection) and/or the prevention of the emergence/spread of resistance in humans, animals or plants through the improvement of the efficacy, specificity, delivery, combinations and/or repurposing of drugs and plant protection agents.

EJP RD: European Joint Programme Rare Diseases

EJP RD – Development of new analytic tools and pathways to accelerate diagnosis and facilitate diagnostic monitoring of rare diseases

Deadline: Pre-proposal: 16 February 2022 / Full proposal: 15 July 2022

Project duration: Up to 3 years

Consortium: Each consortium involves 4-6 eligible principal investigator partners from at least 3 different participating countries. No more than two eligible partners from the same country can be present in each consortium. Partners can come from academia (universities, other higher education institutions or research institutes), clinical/public health sector (hospitals/public health and/or other health care settings and health organizations), enterprises (if allowed by national/regional regulations), patient advocacy organizations.

Scope: The aim of the call is to enable scientists in different countries to build an effective collaboration on a common interdisciplinary research project based on complementarities and sharing of expertise, with expected impact to use the results in the future for benefit of patients. The call topic is about the development of new analytic tools and pathways to accelerate diagnosis and facilitate diagnostic monitoring of rare diseases

ERA PerMed –ERA-net Personalised Medicine

ERAPerMed – “PREVENTION INPERSONALISED MEDICINE”

Total Budget: Estimated call budget is € 27M

Deadline: Pre-proposal: 17 February 2022 / Full proposal: 14 June 2022

Project duration: Up to 3 years

Consortium: Each consortium must involve at least 3 partners eligible for funding coming from 3 different countries. All 3 legal entities must be independent from each other. At least 2 partners out of the minimum 3 eligible project partners of the consortium must be from 2 different EU Member States or Associated Countries.

Joint research proposals may be submitted by applicants belonging to the following categories, Academia (universities, other higher education institutions) or research institutes; Clinical/public health sector (hospitals/public health and/or other healthcare settings and health organisations). Participation of clinicians in the teams is encouraged; Private for-profit and private non-profit partners.

Scope: Through its fifth transnational call, ERA PerMed aims to foster research on prevention in personalised medicine. The JTC2022 is constructed around the following three research areas:

  • Translating Basic to Clinical Research and Beyond;
  • Data and Information and Communication Technology;
  • Responsible and Effective Implementation in Healthcare.
