RVO – DHI
The RVO DHI programme is targeted at entrepreneurs who wish to apply for funding for demonstration projects, feasibility studies, and investment preparation projects.

General information – RVO DHI
A budget of €8.5M is available until 31 December 2023. The DHI could be for instance an excellent opportunity for an entrepreneur who might want to take his/her international business ambitions to a higher level, e.g. investigating whether an investment is feasible for his/her company.
RVO DHI Schemes
Three different schemes are available:
1) Demonstration Projects DHI scheme
Subsidy: € 200,000
Deadline: Open on a first-come, first-served basis, companies can apply until 31 December 2023
Total Budget: Not provided
Project duration: 3 years maximum
Funding rate: 50%, 60% in case the targeted international market is located in fragile states and focus countries.
Eligibility: DHI focuses on small medium enterprises ( SMEs) in the Netherlands and the Caribbean part of the Kingdom with international ambition and interest in foreign markets.
Scope: The scheme allows demonstrating a technology/ product/ service in one of the DHI countries.
To be eligible, the product or service should be new to the market in the country where the company wants to expand. As such, demonstration activities to target groups are needed to show the added value of the company’s solution to the new market. Within 3 years, the expected export must be at least 10 times the subsidy amount. For demonstration projects in DGGF countries, this is 5 times the subsidy amount. Development costs are not eligible
2) Feasibility study DHI scheme
Subsidy: € 100,000
Deadline: Open on a first-come, first-served basis, companies can apply until 31 December 2023
Total Budget: Not provided
Project duration: 2 years maximum
Funding rate: 50%, 60% in case the targeted international market is located in fragile states and focus countries.
Eligibility: DHI focuses on small medium enterprises ( SMEs) in the Netherlands and the Caribbean part of the Kingdom with international ambition and interest in foreign markets.
Scope: The grant supports investigations of the technical and/or commercial feasibility of an investment by a potential foreign customer. The research yields a business plan or project plan. This allows the potential buyer to make an investment decision. There must be a need to carry out a feasibility study for the potential customer. In 1 study, companies might investigate 2 investments for 2 possible customers in the same target country.
Within 3 years, the expected export must represent an amount of at least 10 times the subsidy amount. For feasibility projects in DGGF countries, this is 5 times the subsidy amount.
3) Investment preparation projects DHI scheme
Subsidy: € 100,000
Deadline: Open on a first-come, first-served basis, companies can apply until 31 December 2023

Project duration: 2 years maximum
Funding rate: 50%, 60% in case the targeted international market is located in fragile states and focus countries.
Eligibility: DHI focuses on small medium enterprises ( SMEs) in the Netherlands and the Caribbean part of the Kingdom with international ambition and interest in foreign markets.
Scope: This grant supports the set-up of a new production or service facility in the target country. Or the expansion of the existing facility. With an investment preparation project, you investigate whether your intended investment abroad is feasible. You then invest in the design of a production facility. This can consist of hardware (such as machines) and technical assistance (the specialist knowledge needed to produce).
