SNSF BRIDGE

BRIDGE is a joint programme conducted by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) and Innosuisse – the Swiss Innovation Agency. It offers new funding opportunities at the intersection of basic research and science-based innovation, thereby supplementing the funding activities of the two organisations. BRIDGE consists of two funding opportunities:

BRIDGE Proof Of Concept

Subsidy: 130,000 CHF

Funding rate: 100%

Deadlines: according to offer

Project duration: 1 year

Consortium: Postdoctoral researchers can apply for a BRIDGE Proof of Concept project regardless of discipline if you meet the following criteria: the institution has assured of their support for the duration of the project. The researcher:

• Has obtained bachelor’s or master’s degree (no more than 4 years ago) or
• Completing doctoral studies within the next six months or less, or
• Is working as a postdoctoral researcher, having obtained doctorate no more than 4 years ago.

Scope: Support young researchers who aim to develop an application or service based on their own research findings. These projects may feature any type of innovation or research field.

BRIDGE Discovery

Subsidy: 850,000 CHF for single applicant and max 2,550,000 CHF (consortium of 3 partners)

Project duration: max 4 years

Consortium: Researchers as applicant or as a small consortium with max. 3 partners. Applicant must be conducting research at a university, a Federal Institute of Technology, a University of Applied Sciences or at another research institution.

Scope: Aimed at experienced researchers for basic as well as applied research with a strong societal or economic impact, in order to realise the innovation potential of research findings.
