The Innovation Credit is a risk bearing loan to fund high risk, technological innovation projects.
Typically the Innovation Credit will be matched by private investors such as Venture Capital to minimize the financial risk for the dutch government.
Who can apply?
All Dutch companies, both SMEs and established companies (large or small), can benefit from the Innovation Credit.
What is this funding for?
Although funding is meant for a technological risky project, typically used for more for more later stage development projects. At the end of the project the product should be on the market or otherwise bringing revenues to the company (licensing deal, new investor round, co-development)
Typical life sciences projects
Clinical validation of new compound or medical device. In vivo proof of concept should already been established.
Depending on the ranking of the project, within 8 weeks the first meeting with RVO will take place. Projects typically start ~6 months after application deadline.
